System disk 02

This is  the second of ”Dinkit’s” 50 or so system disks. System Disk 02 is a copy of system disk 01” with a wait command add. You will find that this WAIT command , waits the sane amount of time whether running on a slowest  PC/XT computer or a very fast PC computer. This is a very badly needed command that is missing in Ms-Dos.  No need to have special CPU speed selector button. ( like the turbo button) or special soft ware to regulate the programs speed. We will start using the command is “System disk 03”. There is still no video screen, no keyboard, no sound, no nothing. But this starts changing in the next System Disk to come. There is a do_program procedure where you can add your code and experiments. There is the WAIT command to play with, but  when you will get board with it, add Wword from System disk 01 will a pause command in it.

What you will learn

The main lesson is learning the WAIT command. It is very technical. running the command is very easy.  To keep this interesting you learn you get to to try  WAIT with  Wwod. Then do some other fun stuff. Additional parts (code) will get added to the kernel  at a latter time on a needed  bases through out the Dinkit project.  As a demo the ugly word editor that runs out or the Do_Program.  Some newbie programer are trying to improve upon it , Just because it is fun
